New Vision Pain Management, as its name implies, is looking forward to the treatment of pain states with the emphasis on physics, not chemistry and pharmaceuticals. Pain is not a symptom but a progressive disease, which requires a new look at some of the treatment techniques (e.g. medications) which have proven inadequate to treat many of today’s chronic pain patients. We feel that many of the techniques we are pioneering here at New Vision will be in common practice in the not-so-distant future nationwide. At the same time, all of the newer combinations of techniques utilized in the clinic are safe and generally less invasive than some of the newer “high tech” spine invasive interventional procedures recently developed.
At New Vision Pain Management, we combine proven physics and pain management by signaling the (nerve and muscle) cell to heal itself using sophisticated signals called specific parameter electroanalgesia, or electronic signal treatments (EST). We offer the convenience of in-office services to do our injections, thereby eliminating extra visits to "surgicenters". This approach serves to decreasing costs (and hassles) while maintaining the highest quality of medical practice.

New Vision Pain Management was established in November 2007 by Robert H. Odell, Jr., MD, PhD. Dr. Odell purposefully has chosen to locate his office with that of podiatrist Anthony Ricciardi as the two of them formulate a team approach to the control of lower extremity pain. Dr. Odell also focuses on traditional interventional pain management, but specializes in treating neuropathies, especially those of the diabetic.

Our History
New Vision Pain Management had its roots in Dr. Odell’s prior Las Vegas practice, Advanced Spine and Pain Management, which he co-owned from 2000-2005. Advanced Spine, an interdisciplinary (MD/DC) employed the latest techniques in the treatment of low back and neck pain. After that practice ended in September 2005, Dr. Odell began pursuing his dream of merging electromedicine with interventional techniques to better treat pain syndromes, especially neuropathies. This strategy is producing dramatic patient outcomes in a wide variety of refractory neuropathic pain states, including low back pain, fibromyalgia, diabetic neuropathy, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Many of the protocols that he now utilizes were established at Arizona Back Institute, where he practiced from 2006 - September 2007. He opened his practice in his hometown of Las Vegas, and New Vision Pain Management was born.
Dr. Robert O' Dell - Founder
Robert H. Odell, Jr. is the President and CEO New Vision Pain Management. As a fellow of the Medical Scientist Training Program, he received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Stanford University in 1974 and his MD degree from Stanford in 1976. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at UCLA, and served as chief resident at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center in 1982. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology (1983), American Academy of Pain Management (2001) and the American Board of Pain Medicine (2007).
Most recently, Dr. Odell has served as a consultant to the Sanexas Corporation, Las Vegas, NV. This company has produced a series of specific parameter Electronic Signaling Treatment (EST) devices. He served as a staff anesthesiologist in Southern California in the 1980s and early 1990s, where he was instrumental in developing an acute pain management and OB anesthesia programs. He has been practicing pain management in the Las Vegas and Phoenix areas since 2001. He was instrumental in the development of a neurodiagnostic testing device used in the clinic to detect the spinal level of the pain generator in neck and low back pain. He has extensive experience with a wide variety of non-interventional and interventional acute and chronic pain management techniques, including vertebral axial decompression and electroanalgesia. Dr. Odell is a member of the International Spinal Intervention Society (ISIS), American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP), ASA, and ASRA.
Our Mission
The mission of New Vision Pain Management is to combine the traditional interventional pain management injection procedures with several new and effective techniques such as electromedicine and lumbar and cervical decompression therapy, in order to afford the patient safe and more effective alternatives in the treatment of their pain states. These newer techniques emphasize the role of physics, not chemistry. While pharmaceutical treatment is offered as a temporary measure, our goal is to optimize patient recovery, safety and cost, both in the short and long term.
